Young Talented Artist Award Scheme

To promote talented young artists in the age group of 18-31 years in the field of rare / endangered folk art forms, Youth Talented Artist Award Scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India through Zonal Cultural Centres.

The Ministry of Culture has noted the importance of the great cultural traditions of folk dance, music, instruments and theater to give recognition and encourage future generations. There are many rare and extinct art forms in the constituent states of the North Region Cultural Center which need to be encouraged through this scheme.

The main objective of this scheme is to identify and encourage young talented artists in various performing / folk art forms of the region.

Under this scheme, competitions in various performance / folk art forms involving young talented artists are organized at various places in the member states of the North Region Cultural Center and after final selection, awards are given to the winners.
