National Cultural Exchange Program (NCEP)

Artists from the zone showcase their talent in other parts of the country under the National Cultural Exchange Program (NCEP) funded by the Union Ministry of Culture. Similarly, artists from other fields get a platform to exchange cultural ties besides acquainting the common people with the rich diversity of Indian culture.

The main objective of this scheme is the exchange of artists, musicians, and sculptors etc. between different regions of the country to promote India’s rich cultural heritage. This scheme is benefiting a large number of folk artists, musicians, artisans etc. The zone covers all aspects and diversity of art and culture in various places outside the zone in the member states of India as well as in other states of India.

The following are some of the important fairs and festivals where North Zone Cultural Center has been regularly participating and showcasing folk dances, folk music and folk instruments under this scheme:

Yamuna Autumn Festival in Paonta Sahib (Himachal Pradesh).

Kinnaur Festival in Rikong Pio (Himachal Pradesh).

Virat Mela in Bathinda (Punjab).

Uttarayani Mela in Bageshwari (Uttarakhand).

Shivratri festival in Baijnath and Mandi (Himachal Pradesh).

Surajkund Craft Fair in Surajkund (Haryana).
