About Us

North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala was inaugurated on 6 November 1985 by the then Prime Minister of India. The main objective of this cultural center of 1860 is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI, to protect the new and to promote the transmission / dissemination of the art of the region, to promote the rich diversity and uniqueness of the different arts of the zone and to upgrade and enrich the consciousness of the people about their cultural heritage. The North Region Cultural Center is also committed to putting special emphasis on its activities on the relationship between different regions through its contribution to the development of style and the greater overall identity of India’s cultural heritage and to make special efforts to frame special programs for the protection and strengthening of disappearing art forms in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Chandigarh.

Cascades of bright multicolored and bordered shawls and pattus, Himachali hats and silver ornaments stand out anywhere in Himachali.

Uttarakhand is a state with cultural tradition. It is the land of holy Ganges and important religious centers located on its banks. The state provides a special color to Indian culture with art, craft, dance and rich musical notes.
