The Scheme of award to Young Talented Artistes is being implemented by Ministry of Culture, Government of India through Zonal Cultural Centres to promote the young talented artistes in the age group of 18-31 years in the field of various folk art forms which are rare and at the verge of extinct.
The Ministry of Culture has noted the importance of the great cultural traditions of folk dance, music, instruments and theatre to provide recognition and to encourage the future generation. There are so many rare and vanishing art forms in the constituent States of NZCC which need to be encouraged through this scheme.
The main aim of this scheme is to recognize & encourage Young Talented Artists in various performing/ folk Art forms of the region.
Under this scheme, competitions in various performing/ folk art forms by involving young talented artistes are organized at different places in the member States of the NZCC and after final selection, awards are given to the winners.
